of the Great Architect

The litanies unveiling the many mysterious facets of Mary the Mother of God sing in my soul-bones. Jospeh, on the other hand, as righteous consort has stayed on the sidelines of my thinking. And yet in preparing for Holy Week I came across the familiar reference to Jesus as “the carpenter’s son“ in Matthew 13:55.

Having a working connection to ‘The Royal Art’ it dawned on me that the term “carpenter” in the original Greek is “Tekton,” which means Builder/Craftsman - signaling that Jospeh’s station extended beyond woodworking to include stonework or Masonry.

This links the earthly father of Jesus to The Father God, called the “Grand Architect” in the ancient Mystic Tradition of Freemasonry. ‘Arche’ is the Greek word for primordial matter - & a Master Tekton is the operative - the one who crafts what God designs.

The Father Ground of the World is the Great Master Builder, who out of the primordial Mater/Mother constructed the Universe as an evolutionary testing ground of various grades, or degrees of being – employing those who follow the life of Christ as a path of spiritual development, endeavoring to work constructively with the laws of Nature as a servant of humanity.

Jesus is also referred to as a carpenter (Tekton) in Mark 6:3, where he is called “the carpenter, the son of Mary.” To add this distinctive dimension of Jesus as a Mason, the son of the Grand arche-tekton, brings an enlightening picture.

We can re-member that at the age of 33, (representing the 3X3=9 degrees in the Rosicrucian Initiatory system of Rudolf Steiner) Christ Jesus descended into the center of the Earth to Harrow Hell on Holy Saturnday – And so it is that those who follow this path of Christian Initiation - those who strive for the grade of the 3^rd Degree of the Misraim Dienst must also descend into the realm of Death thru the 9 layers of the Inner Earth - to die & be reborn – empowered to take up the work of a Master Tekton – to be, not only the ‘Widow’s Son’ , but the ‘Carpenters Son’.

To honor & foster the Christian Community of Southeast Wisconsin, interest has been building to have regular ‘Devotional Gatherings’ in-between Priest Visits. All are welcome to gather on select Sundays 10:30 – 11:30 am so that we can tune into the time when the Consecration of the Human Being is being celebrated all over the country.
