Acts 2:1-5 - The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost

2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

The Apostle Peter blows a lot of wind here, as well.

Acts 2: 14 - 21 - Peter's Sermon

14 But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: “Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words. 15 For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day; 16 but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:

17

‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,

‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind;

And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

And your young men shall see visions,

And your old men shall dream dreams;

18

Even on My bondslaves, both men and women,

I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit

And they shall prophesy.

19

‘And I will grant wonders in the sky above

And signs on the earth below,

Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.

20

‘The sun will be turned into darkness

And the moon into blood,

Before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come.

21

‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

Hi Hazel,

It gives me pleasure when you actually show appreciation of the Apostle Peter at the original Event of Pentecost. A lot was put on his shoulders that day. It would accumulate over the course of the next 10-12 years, as documented in Acts of the Apostles. Then, a miraculous event occurred in the life of Peter. It is fully documented in chapter 12 of Acts. It took place at the point of the third cross-quarter day of Lammas, and became the original incentive for the concept of individual resurrection, which forms the basis for our Michaelmas festival, which we are still struggling to establish.

So, it seems to me that any future consideration of Saint John's Tide at the Summer Solstice, must also give due regard to Lammas,, when Peter's chains fell off his arms, and an Angel of the Lord escorted him outside the prison cell to freedom. This is when Acts of the Apostles gets really good. Peter goes to Mary in order to announce his freedom, and then helps Paul on his missionary journeys. Mary sends to her son, John Mark, to come home because Peter is asking for him to help write his testimony, which became "The Gospel of Mark".

Thus, I see Lammas, the third cross-quarter day in the year, and most neglected, as having a very special spiritual relevance. Peter's Miraculous Escape From Chains. We should keep this in mind.

The words of the prophet Joel are powerful - the Holy Spirit inspires him to speak.

Acts 12 speaks of the Festival of Unleavened Bread which is Passover.

Lammas has never been neglected in my world-view, but I love that you are working to renew it as I am. I see a connection with the new Archangel of the Sun Vidar & Lammas.

Indeed, Peter was held in the jail at the time of the Passover, by order of Herod Agrippa I, and was to be publicly humiliated, and crucified. Then, the occurrence of the Angel of the Lord took place, which has to be seen as a supersensible event. It is interesting that this is recognized by the church on August 1st every year, Peter's Miraculous Release From Chains, and coincides with Lammas, which is the third cross-quarter day. I think the observance should be further recognized as a direct succession to Saint John's. You see, it can be shown in Acts of the Apostles, that beginning in chapter 3, Peter begins to be accompanied and aided by the Evangelist John, who helps in developing Peter's etheric body toward giving him powerful healing ability. Thus, Peter's apostleship in the Jerusalem district grew by leaps and bounds because of the assistance provided by the Evangelist John, who had been the Disciple Whom the Lord Loved and was raised from the dead.

Of course, I still have my issues and objections to Vidar replacing Michael as Sun Archangel, but that is another matter.
