I am very interested in the idea of Lazarus being the richest man in Jerusalem because he is depicted so secretively in the Gospel of John, and especially in this lecture from the Hamburg course from 1908.

I find no evidence that Lazarus was ever rich, although he may have come from a well-to-do family of two sisters, and a scion of Bethany, Simon the Pharisee, ref. Luke 7:36-50. He had other plans, like one of his sister's, which involved other riches out of the treasury than money, which by this time had been denoted as mammon.

Rudolf Steiner wrote this biographical sketch in 1907. It tells of how and why the Rosicrucian wisdom, kept secret for some 1500 years, since the Council of Manes in the 4th century, had perforce to be made public because of the advent of materialism in the 19th century.

“In the early part of the fifteenth century Christian Rosenkreutz

went to the east to find a balance between the initiations of the

East and West. One consequence of this, following his return, was

the definitive establishment of the Rosicrucian stream in the West.

In this form Rosicrucianism was intended to be a strictly secret

school for the preparation of those things which would become the

public task of esotericism at the turn of the 20th century, when

material science would have found a provisional solution to certain

problems.

These problems were described by Christian Rosenkreutz as:

1) The discovery of spectral analysis, which revealed the

material constitution of the cosmos.

2) The introduction of material evolution into organic science.

3) The recognition of a differing state of consciousness from

our normal one through the acceptance of hypnotism and suggestion.

Only when this material knowledge had reached fruition in science

were certain Rosicrucian principles from esoteric science to be made

public property. Until that time Christian-mystical initiation was given to the Occident in the form in which it passed through its founder,

the `Unknown One from the Oberland’, to St. Victor, Meister Echkart,

Tauler, etc.

Within this whole stream, the initiation of Mani, who also

initiated Christian Rosenkreutz in 1459, is considered to be of

a `higher degree’; it consists of the true understanding of the

nature of evil. This initiation and all that it entails will have

to remain completely hidden from the majority for a long time to

come. For where even only a tiny ray of its light has flowed into

literature it has caused harm, as happened with the irreproachable

Guyau, of whom Friedrich Nietzsche became a pupil.

— Second Biographical Excerpt given to Edouard Schure, September 1907

Thus, the Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz anno 1459, would evolve over some 400 years in order to be transformed to become Anthroposophical Spiritual Science. The Rembrandt painting does seem to portray a Goetheanum structure at the top, as indicated.

Yes, & here we are...Striving to become worthy to work with these great initiates

Where are they now?

They are working through the Rosicrucian Manifestos, which were once bequeathed to the young Johann Valentin Andreae in the early 17th century under the guidance of Christian Rosenkreutz. Now, today, the Chymical Wedding has been transformed for the Occident (the West) in the Trinity formation of: Freemasonry, Manichaeism, and Rosicrucianism. Nowhere else did Rudolf Steiner reveal so much about his spiritual biography then in The Temple Legend, GA 93, which you have been citing from in relation to Count Saint Germain.

Rudolf Steiner was born exactly 77 years after St. Germain died on February 27, 1784. One of his early achievements in Theosophy was writing about the Unknown One of the Oberland.

interesting thing about Johann Valentin Andreae was that he was just a vessel for the artistic rendering of the Rosicrucian impulse to come thru. Later in life he joined the Catholic Church & denied any connections with those ‘heretics'.

The term "ludibrium" was used frequently by Johann Valentin Andreae (1587–1654) in phrases like "the ludibrium of the fictitious Rosicrucian Fraternity" when describing the Rosicrucian Order, most notably in his Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz, published anonymously in 1616, of which Andreae subsequently claimed to be the author and which has been taken seriously, as virtually a third of the Rosicrucian Manifestos.[1] However, in his Peregrini in Patria errores (1618) Andreae compares the world to an amphitheatre where no one is seen in their true light.

right, he denounced the Rosicrucians later in life. The Jesuits were behind that

It is the Tubingen Circle of Tobias Hess that most influenced Valentin Andreae to begin to doubt, and eventually renounce his belief that he had been touched by Christian Rosenkreutz in the early 17th century.

You see, occult forces wanted a 30 Years War (1618-1648), and if the three Rosicrucian Manifestos could be discredited by its own author (Andreae), then they could be rendered null and void for their original intended use in offsetting this bloody war, which was useless and stupid, and ended with things just the way they had been in the beginning. Yet, this is how the occult movement works. Steiner expressed many disappointments about how Andreae failed his mission, and sold out to the occultists.

Hazel, I love this article. And the images. Its so interesting how it all connects to Lazarus Elijah John. Lazarus conversion toward Christ, and giving away his riches which many say he owned much of Jersualem happened as he witnessed the Youth of Nain's resurrection. This was the Sais, Son of the Widow soon to be Manes individuality who would later become Pereceval, and is set for an appearance in the 21st century, possibly, according to R.Steiner. He was known as a manifestation of the Paraclete. As we know Parsifal ends with the dove.

Yes, there is much overlap in these great Christian Initiates. They interweave & even share etheric, & astral substance. And of course, John The Baptist worked closely with Lazarus John.

The connection with the Egyptian epoch & Isis begs to be explored. We are all Parzival & it is now that we must lift the veil.
