Rudolf Steiner's Soul Calendar

translated by Roy Sadler

NEW YEAR with trust in the world's cold for the light & warmth of my radiant Selfhood I

v39

Devoted to the spirit's revelation

I win the light of Cosmic Being;

Thoughts clarifying power grows

To give me who I really am

And in me, waking,

From thinking's power Self-awareness flows.

Hello Hazel! Thanks for using my English translation of Marie's report that I did back in 2009. My own view of the poisoning is that Steiner *believed* that he was poisoned but that, in actuality, he was not poisoned.

I call attention to his very first statement: "We've been poisoned!" (Wir sind vergiftet!). He thought it was a mass poisoning attack on everyone. When told the others were all right, especially the Vorstand members, Steiner said: “So it’s only me.”

He then goes on to forbid anyone calling a doctor (let alone the police!) and then demands absolute secrecy about the event.

I then ask: what was he so afraid of? What if no one poisoned him and he was interpreting his own falling ill as paranoid belief, that would also enhance a “martyr complex,” especially at the end of the Christmas Conference where he united his own *PERSONAL* karma with that of the Anthroposophical Society?

So what are we to make of his personality expressing his all-too-humanness (read: his unredeemed karma) which has burdened the Society ever since his death? After all, the Archangel Michael has been promoted to Time Spirit. And another description of the Archai is Spirits of Personality.

Steiner gave the key insight when he spoke about the personal revulsion he felt for the personality of Goethe. Steiner was born 29 years after Goethe’s death and he was glad of it because if he had been a contemporary of Goethe and met him personally, he would have been so revulsed and repelled that he could not have mustered the objectivity he needed to evaluate Goethe’s scientific writings.

Should we not apply the same standard to Steiner’s personality? I am not revulsed by it, but I certainly see that his personality with its quirks and deficiencies needs to be separated out from his pioneering of anthroposophy as a movement for sane and loving human development and evolution.

Steiner knew those around him would not be able to deal with the adversarial onslaught, so he took it on himself

But now consider this. When Rudolf Steiner declares that only he had been poisoned, then this event becomes an inversion of the Last Supper. Da Vinci captured the moment when Jesus is about to give the piece of bread to Judas. At the Chrysanthemum Tea, an anthroposophical Judas gives the pastry to Steiner. Who do you believe is this Judas? Or is this Judas a group that conspired to betray Steiner by attempting to assassinate him?

Steiner spoke about how usually the Catholic sect & the dark brotherhoods do not work together, they each have their agendas, but in the case of the burning of the Goetheanum they combined forces to destroy Anthroposophy – becoming so much more powerful, like when lucifer & ahriman work together. But these adversarial beings can, as you say work thru anyone or any sect.
